Piston or Diaphram sprayers - which to use?

Piston sprayers are designed for chemicals which are supplied in liquid form whereas diaphram sprayers are better where chemicals are mixed from a powder. Chemicals mixed from a powder often contain abrasives which can damage piston mechanisms but don't affect diaphrams. See this video for more information.
