EcoJute is a 100% natural biodegradable mulch matting manufactured from a specially designed high density reinforced needle-punched jute fibre. Reinforced with a tough jute-twine grid for extra stability, EcoJute is offered as a natural weed suppressant and erosion control blanket and is designed to compliment our very popular range of both natural and synthetic weed and mulch matting systems. Designed to gradually break down over a period of 9-18 months (dependent on conditions), EcoJute comes at a time where, more than ever before, landscape architects, land owners and property developers and looking for natural alternatives to assist planting projects through the critical establishment phases.

Important – Before installing mulch matting or weed matting thorough eradication of weeds from the area to be covered is strongly recommended. We advise spraying the site with a systemic herbicide such as Roundup Renew or Ken-up Aquatic 360, allowing a day or two before installing the matting. EcoJute™ reduces planting stress - EcoJute allows effective penetration of water and fertilizer and circulation of air. Also reduces evaporation and keeps soil temperature up in cold conditions.
EcoJute™ helps eliminate herbicide requirements - EcoJute is designed to block out a majority of sunlight thereby helping to suppress unwanted competing vegetation regrowth around the plant. Please note windblown seed can sometimes settle in the surface of the matting. Sprouting seeds may need to be removed as they occur.
EcoJute™ is easy on the eye - Visual pollution is today a greater consideration on revegetation projects than ever before. EcoJute merges unobtrusively with the natural landscape, however it can slowly bleach in direct sunlight over time.
EcoJute™ is environmentally friendly - EcoJute is manufactured from pure natural resources and are 100% natural and biodegradeable.
EcoJute™ lasts the distance - EcoJute is designed to gradually biodegrade approximately 9-18 months after installation (may reduce in wet conditions), giving plants time to get established free from competing weeds.
