Natural Hessian Dune Fencing is a biodegradable windbreak and sand-trapping system designed for coastal dune stabilisation and revegetation projects. When installed, it reduces wind velocity, encourages controlled sand accumulation, and creates sheltered conditions that support the successful establishment of native species such as spinifex.
Manufactured from natural hessian and finished with reinforced sewn hems, a sisal drawstring for tensioning, and sewn eyelets for secure fixing, the fencing is purpose-built to perform in exposed coastal environments. It meets environmental and DOC requirements for untreated materials, with untreated macro or hardwood stakes recommended for support. This solution is well suited to foredunes, blow-outs, and restoration areas where long-term dune formation and plant survival are essential.
