100% biodegradable 300mm seedling guard and kit.

NEW pre-assembled guard an absolute game changer

FiberGuard 2.0 is the improved version of the original FiberGuard, designed for quick, reliable protection of young native plants and trees. Made in NZ from natural pulp fibre with a food-safe moisture barrier, it protects against wind, browsing animals, and herbicide spray while allowing airflow and light for healthy growth.

Pre-assembled for fast installation, it’s ideal for large-scale planting, volunteer groups, and community days as no folding is required! Fully biodegradable, it eliminates the need for removal and supports a low-carbon, sustainable planting approach.

The Fiberguard 2.0 300 will protect against rabbits but if you have any larger pests such as hares, we recommend you using a taller guard.

Features/Benefits:    

  • Reduces install time by 50% with pre-assembled design.
  • Sloped design for easy placement on hillsides where necessary
  • Neutral colour creates aesthetically pleasing landscapes
  • Removal of guards not necessary as they biodegrade down to mulch, however they can be removed or recycled if desired
  • Provides good protection in the field for up to 24 months. The rate of degradation is dependent on climate and site conditions.

Absolutely! While Fiberguards are biodegradable, many people choose to recycle them if they’re no longer needed before the biodegrading process begins. They can be donated to an organisation or individual who can use them to protect native plants, or placed in a cardboard recycling bin for proper disposal.

And yes, Fiberguards are proven to protect against rabbits. Please note that while both the 300mm and 450mm sizes offer protection from rabbits, only the 450mm height will also guard against hares.

Thanks to their biodegradable properties, Fiberguards are designed to last between 12 to 24 months. However, in areas with strong winds or wet conditions, the breakdown process can be accelerated.
