FiberGuard 300 and Kit

The original 100% biodegradable 300mm seedling guard and kit.

Designed and created in NZ from natural pulp fibre and coated with a durable food-safe moisture barrier.
The Fiberguard 300 range will protect against rabbits, but if you have any larger pests, such as hares, we recommend going for a taller guard.

Features/Benefits:

  • Protects plants naturally against browsing animals, herbicide sprays and harsh elements
  • Provides its own microclimate to help plants survive and enhance growth
  • Manufactured using a tough recycled fibre board that has excellent puncture-resistant properties and high bursting strength
  • High ‘Wet Strength’ due to its FDA-compliant moisture barrier, helping it withstand damp environments
  • Sloped design for easy placement on hillsides where necessary
  • Removal of guards not necessary as they biodegrade down to mulch however, they can be removed or recycled if desired
  • Provides good protection in the field for up to 24 months. The rate of degradation is dependent on climate and site conditions.

Absolutely! While Fiberguards are biodegradable, many people choose to recycle them if they’re no longer needed before the biodegrading process begins. They can be donated to an organisation or individual who can use them to protect native plants, or placed in a cardboard recycling bin for proper disposal.

And yes, Fiberguards are proven to protect against rabbits. Please note that while both the 300mm and 450mm sizes offer protection from rabbits, only the 450mm height will also guard against hares.

Thanks to their biodegradable properties, Fiberguards are designed to last between 12 to 24 months. However, in areas with strong winds or wet conditions, the breakdown process can be accelerated.
