Another KBC insurance policy. The KBC TriGuards are suitable for protection against browsing pukekos, rabbits, hares and opossums. Note for hares, we recommend a minimum height of 450mm for a plant guard. 

Translucent twin walled polypropylene design with a welded seam. Provides light for small seedlings while giving ideal microclimate growing conditions and protection from herbicides and wind. Comes flat packed but opens up into an instant “quickfold” triangle with slits precut into wall for stake to slide into. These TriGuards are reusable, and well suited to harsh environmental conditions. In extra windy situations, the welded seam can be pointed in direction of prevailing wind for protection. For added strength, an extra bamboo cane can be inserted inside the shelter at the tip. Made from eco-friendly, UV protected polypropylene that is inert to animals and environment, and recyclable.

Translucent twin-wall polypropylene design - provides sufficient light for small seedlings while giving ideal micro-climate growing conditions and protection from herbicides and wind. Come as a flat die-cut sheet - easy to assemble - stake not included. 10’s of thousands in use all over NZ - used by local authorities, nut growers, olive growers, native revegetation teams, farm foresters etc. SquareGuard is a great replacement for our discontinued Tubex product.

Reap the savings of buying our complete SquareGuard units as a combo that includes guard, EcoCoir mat and matching stake. EcoCoir mat has the advantage of quick installation being reasonably rigid and self-supporting. Simply place the mat around the plant then mount the SquareGuard on top. Once the stake is placed through the guard and into the EcoCoir mat, the unit is then securely fixed into place. EcoCoir mat comes with latex coating on one side for better weed suppression.

EcoCoir Mats come in two sizes (200mm2, 250mm2).

The smaller is ideal for Combiguard and NaturGuard 300 shelters and allows for quicker installation.

The larger is a generic size tailored for all other tree shelters except the 1.2m size. It is ideally used in TriGuard and NaturGuard 450 shelters and both FiberGuard shelters which makes for an extremely fast installation time.

Mats are 1000gsm and come with natural Latex coating to inhibit weed penetration.

100% natural EcoWool Mulch Matting is manufactured from waste wool and is recommended for small and large scale planting projects where soil conservation and weed suppression are required. Important – Before installing mulch matting or weed matting thorough eradication of weeds from the area to be covered is strongly recommended.  We advise spraying the site with organic spray, allowing a day or two before installing the matting.
